Transfiguration School, located in Chinatown, NYC is a Catholic elementary school of the Archdiocese of New York that educates students from Pre-K through 8th grade. Transfiguration School was a previous recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Award in 2023.

 

I was invited by visual art teacher Ms. Carol Rodriguez to do an artist presentation and lead a 45 minutes to 1 hour collage workshop with her 7 elementary art club students. I presented my digital artwork, "Miraged Fine China" along with my other Fine Art practice and students' artwork in the classrooms. After the presentation, students created a coherent collage artwork by using self-chosen cut out pictures from magazines that fits their own interests and influences. Students were guided to decorate negative space and create imaginative speak bubbles among their chosen characters.. The final artwork turned out truly impressive and heartwarming.

我应视觉艺术教师卡罗尔-罗德里格斯女士（Carol Rodriguez）的邀请，为她的 7 名小学艺术社团学生做了一场艺术家演讲，并主持了 45 分钟至 1 小时的拼贴艺术工作坊。我在课堂上展示了我的数字艺术作品 "Miraged Fine China"，以及我的其他艺术实践和学生们的艺术作品。介绍结束后，学生们根据自己的兴趣和影响，从杂志上自行选择并裁剪图片，创作了一幅连贯的拼贴作品。学生们在指导下装饰了画面的负空间，并在所选人物中创造了富有想象力的话语气泡。孩子们的作品非常可爱并令人印象深刻。
